Fall season in upstate New York, at peak foliage, is so colorful it’s like a child’s coloring book.

After years of intending to visit Watkins Glen State Park, I finally made the trip. While searching for interesting compositions throughout the gorge — home to 19 waterfalls — this view caught my eye.

It was a composition that required 100% thinking outside the box, as I had to scale a small fence barrier meant to keep parkgoers on the designated path through the gorge.

Well… let’s just say I took the wrong path.

Quickly, I climbed over and down with my camera to capture this art piece.
